Tango in Terlingua – II

Early in 2017 I made the semi-annual trek to Daytona for Bike Week, but I didn’t document that ride. For our first major adventure, my wife and I headed to West Texas to see the McDonald Observatory in Ft. Davis and Big Bend National Park near Terlingua, TX.

BBQ Run – Eureka Springs, AR

After returning from Texas, my friend, Rick, and I rode to Eureka Springs to meet fellow Road Glide riders and explore the Ozarks.

Riding West

Rick and I continued west from Eureka Springs to visit Rick’s daughter in California. Unfortunately I broke down at the Four Corners. Rick rode on to California and I transported my bike to Albuquerque to have it repaired.

Rolling Thunder

Bob and I rode to Washington D. C. for the 30th Anniversary Rolling Thunder

Western North Carolina

Bob and I rode from DC to western North Carolina to ride the Dragon and other, better, roads in the area.

USS Saratoga Reunion

After riding the  mountains of western North Carolina, I headed to Richmond, VA for a reunion with several junior officers I served with aboard the USS Saratoga.

77th Annual Convention 2017

The Motor Maids 77th Annual Convention was held in East Peoria, IL.

Road Glide National Rally

Shortly after returning from Illinois, we got back on the road to attend Shark Week VII in Cherokee, NC.

Honoring Betty Fauls

On our way home from Shark Week we went to Chesnee, SC to ride in a parade honoring Motor Maid, Betty Fauls.

Besides these trips, I also rode to Daytona for Biketoberfest. It was a very busy riding year for me, having ridden 21,000 miles.
