2018 Spring Ride Part 10
While taking a few days off to work on my blog, a high school classmate saw that I was staying northeast of Dallas and contacted me. It turns out she lives about 15 miles from where I was staying, so we decided to get together for dinner with her and her husband. We took the usual pictures.
I had a set of tires shipped to Texas and changed the front one before riding on to Fort Davis. I intended to change the rear tire before going to Eureka Springs. When Shrug and I inspected the tire more closely, we determined it had plenty of tread left and didn’t need to be changed just yet. I strapped it on my back seat for the journey home.
I planned to stay 3 days at Shrug’s but the weather reports called for tornadoes in the plains and rain from Dallas to Detroit. It seemed like a good idea to leave a day early and get to Eureka Springs before the rain set in. It was, in fact, a very good idea. I ran into a few sprinkles, which dirtied the windshield, but didn’t dissolve the bugs.
The picture above is of the town square in Paris, TX. There seemed to be quite a few shops open and operating.
I got to the hotel early and checked in.
It’s raining today as riders are making their way here.
