2018 Spring Ride Part 2 begins the day after we arrived at Shrug’s cabin. I had shipped a set of tires to his house, because I knew I would not be able to get back home on the tires currently on my bike. Scott located an independent motorcycle repair shop not far from his house. The guys in the shop changed an balanced the front tire quickly. They did a great job.

We took it easy the rest of the day until it was time to go to the Road Glide Party House (the home of John and Nikki.)

All the Road Glide riders converged on the Party House for a grand dinner.

John bought of ton of crayfish, which he and a neighbor boiled – batch after batch – all evening.

After we returned from the party we lined up the bikes for a quick getaway in the morning.

The next morning Jim and I got up at the usual time, had breakfast, packed the bikes, and headed south. It was 51 degrees when we started and the weather forecast was for showers mid-morning. We wore our heated jackets and rain suits, which kept us toasty warm and dry.

We met the rest of the gang in Llano, TX at Tommy’s Mesquite Flamed Pizza restaurant.

Tommy really does use a mesquite-fired oven to bake the pizzas and pizza is the only thing on the menu. You place your order with your topping selections on a chalk board.

Everyone at our table had a good time and enjoyed the pizza.

We ended the day in Junction, TX at the Sun Valley Motel.

We had a delightful dinner at Isaacks Restaurant across the street from the motel.
