77th Motor Maids Convention – Day 1
The first day of the 77th Motor Maids convention started with the “Welcome Meeting.” All enrolled members attended, and the officers gave us a preview of the convention activities, including the group photo, parade, Dot Robinson Road Rally and banquet. There was free time after lunch until the everyone assembled for the group photo. Beth estimates there are more than 400 women in attendance with at least another 100 spouses, SOs & family.
After the picture the ladies got on their bikes and lined up for the parade, which went about 2-1/2 miles to downtown East Peoria. Most of the members participated, so there was an impressive group.
We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant near where the parade ended. Good beer, good tacos & burritos.
Tomorrow is the Dot Robinson Road Rally, a timed, 60 to 70-mile riding event that is the highlight of convention.
