Beth and Martha were in school together from 5th grade through High School. As is often the case, they lost track of each other and reconnected many years later on Facebook. When Martha saw that we were traveling through Oregon, she invited us to her home in Bend for lunch and catch-up conversation. Also, Martha’s nephew, Patrick, and our son, Drew, were friends when they were in school.

We rode over the mountains from Corvallis to her home overlooking the Deschutes River.

On our way back to Corvallis we stopped to take a picture of Foster Lake.

Tomorrow we will go back to the coast and continue our journey north.
