Home from Shark Week VII
We left our hotel in Spartanburg, NC about 7:00 a.m. The weather was cool and the temperature rose slowly through the day. Fortunately it didn’t get above the mid 80s. There was no free breakfast at the hotel, so we ate at a McDonalds and had a coffee break at another McDonalds.
We had our picnic lunch on the only picnic table at a Flying J.
We had smooth sailing all the way to Ocala. We could see slow traffic on I-75, so we took the frontage road south to the next entrance. Traffic was slow, but it kept moving. Traffic disappeared south of the Florida Turnpike, but the rain started. We rode through about 25 miles of rain there and then again in our neighborhood. We finished the 595 miles in 12 hours.
I created a short animated map of the routes we rode during Shark Week.
We are grateful to the organizers of this year’s Shark Week and are looking forward to next year’s meetup in Colorado. We are especially pleased that Drew joined us for the week; we had a great time riding together.
Great new map…
Nice map! And welcome back to Wetsville!
