Honoring Betty Fauls
Betty Fauls, daughter of Motor Maids co-founder Dot Robinson, was a Motor Maid for more than 60 years. The Legends Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America decided to honor Betty as Legend of the Year 2017, at the Antiques on Main Rally in Chesnee, NC. The Motor Maids were scheduled to ride in the rally parade and attend the award presentation.
The parade didn’t start until 1:30 p.m., so we slept in and had all morning to relax and get ready. We rode up to the staging point at the Shriners parking lot.
Bob had his old BMW.
Everyone lined up and waited for the start. The pink bike is the “Mothership,” which was Dot Robinson’s bike.
At precisely 1:30 p.m. the police led the group down the highway and into town.
There was a short presentation followed by a group photo, which I used as the title of the video.
This evening the group went to dinner a few miles from the hotel.
We leave for home tomorrow. I hope it’s not too hot or too rainy.
