Thanks to Alex
Yes, thanks go to Hurricane Alex today for the overcast skies in Florida, which greatly reduced the temperature, and for spritzing us just enough to motivate us to put on our rain gear so we stayed dry when we hit real rain.
We were up early and ready to go before 6 am.
We put the kick stands up right at 6 and headed north.
The rain gear was a pain to put on and take off, but it did its job.
This bike is the first I’ve had with cruise control. Riding a bike should not be so easy as it is when the cruise is on!
We took I-75 and I-10 in the morning, then took primary routes through Alabama in the afternoon. It was hot and humid. We learned that Birmingham has way too much traffic and lots of accidents. We were delayed by 3 or 4 fender benders.
We rolled in to Jasper, AL after 13-1/2 hours and 651 miles on the road.
Jasper is in Alabama. This picture at the court house clears it up in case you had any doubts.
