Wednesday, July 6, 2011 – Grand Rapids, MI. Today’s main event was the Dot Robinson Road Run. About 75 riders competed in this 2-hour timed run. Everyone starts with 1000 points. 2 points are deducted for each minute a rider is early at a check point. 1 point is deducted for each minute the rider is late. Riders have a list of turning instructions and start 1 minute apart.

After the run we decided to take a ride over to Lake Michigan. We went to the beach at a state park west of Holland.

After we got back from our trip we went with a group to downtown Grand Rapids to the “Blues on the Mall.” An outdoor amphitheater has a stage and a blues band plays from 6-9 pm. We parked on the street and had a nice dinner at a trendy nearby restaurant. We walked over to the park and listened to the band for awhile.

When we got back to the hotel Beth checked the results of the Road Run.

And the winner is…

Beth is the first place winner in the A class. (Class A participants have placed first through fourth in a previous road run. Beth won the Class B run at her first convention in 2005.)
