The 2013 Motor Maids Annual Convention will be in Bend, OR July 9-11. We have been getting ready for the trip to Bend for the last couple of months. We’ve picked a route and noted possible alternate routes. The tornadoes in Oklahoma and the generally fierce weather in the mid-west has led us to picking a route that goes south of Oklahoma.

We’d like to ride the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado, but there are a couple of forest fires on ether side of US 160, which we have to take to get to Durango and the beginning of the highway.

The CB radio on Beth’s bike hasn’t worked properly in the 2 years we’ve had it, so we have reinstalled our Chatterbox radios. The voice quality and range of the radios is far superior to CB.

Next we will practice packing our things. We’ve been gathering stuff, but haven’t put everything on the bikes yet. We’ll do that this weekend.
