We’re in Bend, OR
We rolled into The Riverhouse in Bend about 3:30 this afternoon. We rode about 3650 miles from home. It has been a great trip out with the opportunity to reconnect with old friends in Colorado and Nevada and newer friends in Kansas. Invariably, we run into other motorcyclists at gas stations or at lunch stops, which provides an opportunity to talk about either the Motor Maids or the Road Glide Forum. Often, even the other motorcyclists are surprised that we have ridden all the way from Florida.
We left Reno pretty early this morning. The weather was cool when we started with clear all day long. It warmed to the upper 80s, but that didn’t seem too hot. We passed Mt. Shasta and Mt. McLaughlin. Klamath Lake was quite large. We saw signs for Crater Lake, which is about 65 miles south of Bend. Don’t know if we’ll have a chance to get back down there on this trip. Maybe a good excuse to come back!
We did encounter a bit of construction delay. We had to stop, then follow the “follow me” truck.
Beth checked into the convention and attended a Florida district meeting. We had some dinner and now we are going for ice cream.
Tomorrow, if time permits, we are going up to the Columbia River. We’ll cross into Washington so Beth can check off that state as the 48th she has been in.
