Convention 2015 Day 2
Wednesday morning is always the Dot Robinson Road Rally. The rally is a 60 mile route that must be covered at an average speed of 30 mph. There are checkpoints along the way that are not know to the riders ahead of time. 1 point is deducted for each minute a rider is late at a checkpoint and 2 points are deducted for each minute a rider is early. It usually rains on the DRRR, but this year the rain held off.
Each rider is assigned a number, which designates their starting order. Riders leave once a minute. Beth was number 56, so she started at 8:56. She taped the directions to the inside of her windshield. She marked each turn with the target time. Results of the rally are posted Thursday morning.
After the rally we went to the local Harley dealer, Toys for Big Boys. (what a sexist name.) The dealer had lunch for everyone and lots of things to buy.
From the dealer we went to Hopewell Rocks, a Provincial Park, where you can walk on the floor of the Bay of Fundy at low tide and watch the time come in from above. We took a lot of pictures.
The evening event was titled, “A Kitchen Party.” It was in the party room of a pub down the block. The first entertainer was Shelly, who played piano, harmonica, and accordion. She played a variety of music and had the place rockin’ and dancin’.
The Atlantic district Motor Maids got up and sang their rendition of “King of the Road,” as “Queens of the Road.” It was a riot.
The Mud River Rockers played rock and country hits. Everyone had a grand time, including Nancy, who added a touch of Motor Maids blue to the scene.
