We left Allentown early and got on the highway. It was another day of burning up the miles. Here we are taking a break at a rest stop.

We did have some fun riding the twisty roads of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Today was overcast, but not foggy and rainy.

We stopped at a lake and dam for some pictures.

A little later Beth announced she’d had enough of the BRP, so we headed back to I-81. We found a grocery store and bought a sandwich for lunch.

We arrived at our host’s home in Mt. Airy, NC a little after 6 pm. Our host met us and a local reporter arrived a few minutes later. He is doing a story on airbnb and wanted to interview us and take a few pictures. We talked for awhile then got back on our bikes and went downtown for dinner.

Out host suggested the Old North State Winery. The food was good and they had craft beer as well as local wines.

We are settled for the night and ready for another day’s adventure.
