Live Oak to Mandeville
Today was a typical transit day – ride, gas up, have a picnic lunch, arrive.
We took our time packing up and leaving the hotel in Live Oak, FL The first couple of hours were cool (for Florida) and traffic on I-10 was light. We had a few hours of nice, cruise-control riding.
Our first gas stop had a Stuckey’s sign on the awning, but there were no Stuckey’s products inside.
We stopped for a picnic lunch at the Alabama welcome center.
The temperatures in the afternoon were in the mid-90s, and traffic was heavier than it was in the morning. We arrived at our friends’ home in the mid-afternoon. After a hurricane destroyed it for a second time, they built their new home on stilts, which provides a nice, shaded area for the bikes.
We enjoyed a beer while sitting around their picnic table followed by a nap before dinner. After dinner, we shared travel stories and worked on solving the world’s pressing problems. Tomorrow we head to Seguin, TX.
I’m trying my hand a vlogging. This is yesterday’s edition.
Love the vioging or whatever it’s called.
v-logging as in video-logging. vlog, for short.
NO Stuckey’s? Always loved the fudge and divinity.
Beth thought she’d get some pralines. Boo-hoo.
