Moving Day Plus
Monday
Our room in the Motor Lodge opened up, so we packed up the trailer and moved over.
We talked with friends as they arrived, had dinner and attended the opening ceremonies of Shark Week XI. Beth received her 2nd Shark Tooth of Shame with grace and humor.
Late in the day I receive an email that said Dexter approved our claim and they would ship a replacement axle to a service center.
Tuesday
I talked with Dexter and they said it would take two to three weeks to manufacture and ship a new axle. Next I talked with Time Out and we came up with a plan. Time Out is shipping us an axle from their inventory and Dexter will cover the cost. Time Out shipped it today via UPS, with a scheduled delivery by 7:00 p.m. Friday. The local shop will be closed all weekend for the holiday, so we are guessing Tuesday will be the earliest that it will be installed.
Carson Valley Inn has reserved us a spot in the campground for Friday to Wednesday, so we have a place to hang out. Once we get everything squared away we should be able to continue our journey.
This afternoon we found a coffee shop within walking distance and had some real coffee. We needed a break from gas station and instant coffee.
We had dinner with our friend, Steve, at “Cook’d,” a restaurant across the street. We had fried chicken pizza – it was delicious. We spent the evening at the tent chatting with several friends.
There were beautiful pink clouds in the East at sunset. There was a rainbow for a couple of minutes, which you might be able to see in the center of the picture.
Friends brought a cake to celebrate David’s 61st birthday.
On Hiatus
This blog is going on vacation for a few days as we enjoy Shark Week. I’ll report back later. In the meantime, have a happy and safe Fourth of July.
Happy Trails to you both!
So what shameful thing did Beth do to earn her second tooth….?????
Dropped it on loose gravel in the camp ground in Grand Junction.
Tim, what’s this Shark Tooth thing all about then ?
If you drop your bike on the way to Shark Week or at Shark Week, you are awarded a necklace with the Shark Tooth of Shame.
Nice Photo bomb with Beth Good time with new friends
