Additional Parts Needed for Reverse Gear
There are a few parts you will need to purchase before doing the installation of the reverse gear. Here is a list of parts I think you’ll need. Click the Amazon badge to go to the Amazon page for the part.

This is the video about the parts in the kit and the parts you need to buy before installing the reverse gear.
Exhaust pipe gaskets. It’s a good idea to replace these gaskets when you reinstall the exhaust pipes.
If your bike has a cross-over pipe, you’ll need a new clamp, since these are single-use clamps. The clamps come in various sizes, so measure before ordering.
The clamps that secure the heat shields to the pipes were rusted, so I bought new ones.
DOT 4 brake fluid. You’ll only need this if you have the hydraulically actuated clutch.
A limit switch on the reverse gear and a relay are installed in the bike’s electrical system to stop the motor if the reverse gear is engaged and the transmission is taken out of neutral. Use a Posi-Tap connector to connect to the transmission neutral switch.
Use butt-splice connectors with heat shrink insulation to connect to the coil power wire.
Wrap the relay and wires connected to it with silicone tape to protect against corrosion.
If you need to bypass the electrical safety circuit, you’ll need 2 spade lug terminals.
Dear Sir/Madam
I am trying to source a safety switch for the reverse unit which I have fitted to my 2008/9 Harley Road King (Similar) to the one on this page. Can you assist with the supply of this part as wire tag has broken off.
Regards
Rod FRAIN
I’m sorry, I can’t help you with that. Perhaps you can contact the manufacturer of the reverse unit.
