The First Day Is in the Bag
Thursday, 7/6 – St. Petersburg, FL to Satesboro, GA
Our Alaska Adventure (4th attempt) is underway. We packed everything but the cold stuff ahead of time, so this morning’s agenda was primarily turning off and unplugging appliances. Beth loaded the refrigerator, and I hitched the trailer.
Our friends, Lynne and Mike and Baily and Bellamy are accompanying us on this trip. Our first stop was the Love’s on US-301 in Hawthorne for gas, coffee and bathroom break.
We just continued up US-301 and stopped for lunch at a municipal park in Hilliard, FL. Mike & Lynne have a 27ft. Class B+ RV, which Mike is driving.
The afternoon ride was quite hot, but we didn’t get any rain. We did get a spritz from water on the road in spots where it had rained earlier. We have set up camp at Parkwood RV Park in Statesboro, GA. The first order of business was to get in the pool to cool off.
It’s nearing sunset, so we’ll start dinner and get organized for tomorrow.
Congratulations. Travel Safely.
All the best
