Pacific to Atlantic
Thursday, 8/10 – Prince Rupert, BC to Kitwanga, BC
This is the first post in our new adventure, “Pacific to Atlantic.”
A couple of weeks ago we decided to extend our trip and go to Williamsburg Virginia to see family. When we got to Kitwanga, I realized we were only 150 miles from Prince Rupert and the Pacific coast, and that by riding there we could start a new adventure riding from the Pacific to the Atlantic.
We explored the waterfront in Prince Rupert, had lunch at Bob’s on the Rocks (suggested by our campground owner), and visited a museum.
Sidenote – I played the part of Rupert in a Children’s theatre production when I was a kid, but I don’t remember the play. Maybe one of my friends remembers the play.
Riding back to Kitwanga we encountered some rain as we had in the morning, but the rain cleared, and we enjoyed sights of the mountains and the river. It would have been nice to see the mountains without the overcast skies, but what we saw was quite dramatic. Visitors who see these mountains on clear days are fortunate, indeed.
Back at the campsite we had some rain, some dinner, and some wine.
Sweet, I’m enjoying your escapades, Tim.
Thank you.
What an amazing trip. The beauty of Canada and the United States is truly awe inspiring.
Have a safe journey across the country… from sea to shining sea!!
All the Best,
Lloyd
Thank you.
I love that y’all go to the local museums. Rob & I hit up the churches and museums when we travel.
Safe travels coming back. I’m sure vicariously enjoying the ride. Thanks for the blog.
We like to learn a little something about the places we visit. Most museums are a good source of information in a “Cliff’s Notes” style.
