Always Check For Your Next Gas Stop
Saturday, 8/12 – Ft. Fraser to Tete Jaune Cache
We awoke to brisk, chilly, clear morning. It was a welcome relief from yesterday’s rain.
We rode a couple of hours to Prince George, where we shopped at Walmart and the liquor store before having a snack at Tim Hortons.
We didn’t fill up with gas before leaving town. Ooops. The next gas was farther than Beth’s bike could go. We put the spare gas in her tank so she’d have no problem making it. When my tank got low, I turned on the transfer pump. It didn’t pump so quickly as it usually does. By the time we got to a construction stop, the pump wasn’t working at all and my main tank was very low.
Fortunately one of the flaggers had a gas can and put a few gallons in my tank.
We stopped for lunch at a rest area down by a river. It seemed to be a popular place for fishing.
We finished the day’s ride at Tete Jaune Lodge. It’s one of the best we’ve been to on this trip.
I’m playing catch up. That was nice of the flagger to give you gas.
The countryside is beautiful.
I was very lucky he was on duty. We find beauty just about everywhere we ride.
