The Journey Continues
Sunday, 7/16 – Sudbury to WaWa
The campground was quiet when we packed up and headed west. Our first gas and coffee stop was at an Esso station.
These guys stopped to talk with us.
We stopped for lunch in Sault Sainte Marie, ON, near the St. Lawrence Seaway, There had been a rack concert in the park the night before, so crews were taking down the tents, platforms, etc. We found a nice table under a tree with a good view of the river. Here are a few pictures of the park.
The sign said, “No facilities for 115 km,” so we pulled into this gas station and tourist attraction. Beth named it, “North of the Border.”
They had old-fashioned gas pumps,
And lots of trinkets to buy.
Our afternoon break was at a gas station – unremarkable.
I seemed to have missed getting a picture of our campsite at Wawa RV Park. It was cold and it rained in the morning. Lynne and Mike invited us to fix our breakfast in their camper. The rain held off long enough for us to get the trailer packed. At least the rain kept the Kamikaze mosquitos at bay. They followed us to…
Monday, 7/17 – Wawa to Thunder Bay
We got gas in Wawa in the morning. They have a nice visitors’ center showcased with this giant statue of a goose.
We stopped for lunch at a restaurant in a mall in Marathon, ON. The owner needs to sell the business. Any takers?
Beth says the chicken rice soup was excellent. I enjoyed the French onion soup.
There was also a market in the shopping center, so we picked up a few groceries.
We stopped at a couple of overlooks to take pictures.
We camped at Trowbridge Falls city campground.
We walked down to the river to see the falls.
It was another cold night, but we survived nicely. We have a double sleeping back and lots of warm jammies. We tried the propane heater for the first time before going to bed. It heats the tent very quickly. Ah, so nice!
So cool.
Stay warm!
It’s nice and warm in St. Pete. We will send your love to the Bridge club.
Travel safely,
B and C
We are staying warm, if not dry, thanks to the heater.
FYI: Another Coyote in our neighborhood. It sounds like you are having a great time. I do not see a trailer behind Mike’s Motorhome, does he have his bike on this trip?
I saw the email about the coyote! Mike’s trailer died in a road washout last year. He’s the chase vehicle driver this year.
