Second Day to Williamsburg
We had an easy start this morning after breakfast at the hotel. The weather was perfect – sunny and cool. Traffic was light.
We pulled into the Georgia welcome center to check tire pressure and phone messages.
Our coffee break was an unexpected pleasure. I saw this coffee shop as we stopped at a light.
There was ample parking in the lot across the street.
We talked with the owner. The clean and inviting atmosphere was by intention; they want people to return. I’m sure we’ll be back and bring friends with us in July.
It was time for lunch when we reached Sumter, SC. I found Patriot Park in the GPS, and we rode to it. The GPS warned us no auto traffic was allowed, but that just wasn’t true. It’s a huge park with lots of facilities. We had our picnic lunch at a table under the trees next to a playground.
There was a pavilion, lakes, and so much more.
Afternoon coffee was at McDonald’s. The nearby high school had just let out and many students were enjoying a break. The boys were in “notice me” mode, and the girls were ignoring them.
We had dinner at Tramway Diner. The diner atmosphere was authentic and the food was very good. The day’s riding on mostly state roads and US highways was laid back and scenic. Outside of the towns there are few trucks, unlike the interstates.
After dinner we made our way to our Bunk-a-Biker host. After a much-needed shower, we chatted and I put this blog together.

Nice easy day.
