Change of Plans
Saturday, 7/29 – Glacier View, AK to Seward to Palmer, AK
It was overcast and cool when we broke camp.
We stopped at a pull-off for this view.
Shortly thereafter, however, the damp became mist, and the mist became a cold rain as we pulled into Palmer for gas.
The forecast for Seward, our destination, was more cold and wet weather. Rather than camp another night in those conditions, we opted to stay put at the Pioneer Motel across from the gas station.
There are three brewpubs within walking distance, so we’ll have a nice pint and pub grub this evening. We’ll also have time to find an Anchorage RV park for the next four nights.
I spent the day working on the blog.
We walked about a half-mile to the Bleeding Heart Brewery. Beth had “Lorem Ipsum” IPA and I had “Grounds for Divorce” coffee porter. We enjoyed some pub grub, too. It’s an eclectic place and reminds us of 3 Daughters in St. Petersburg
It’s still misty and overcast, but we’ll head to Anchorage tomorrow. Having a motel day was a good break from the weather. Nothing like a hot bath, good beer and a warm bed. Back to camping tomorrow.
I love your post and haven’t missed a one. Great sign for the above pub.
Hmm. Better be careful of your drink choices! “Grounds for Divorce” sounds a bit chancy!
Your posts are great. It is an interesting trip you’re taking. Safe travels
Thank you, Marie.
