Dot Robinson Road Rally
Beth was up before 6 a.m. for the “Pajama-rama.” Those participating in the rally wear pajamas or dress up in costumes and get in line to receive their starting number for the rally. Beth drew number 15.
The “DRRR” is a timed riding event. The objective is to complete the course with an average speed of 30 mph and to arrive at each check point exactly on time.
Riders start at one-minute intervals beginning at 8:01 a.m.
Many of the participants dropped out because it rained for most of the rally. Beth had no issue with the rain as all her riding gear is Gortex lined.
We did a little shopping at Giant Eagle in the afternoon. Our Frequent Shoppers account was still active! I think we haven’t shopped at a Giant Eagle since we left Pittsburgh in 2010.
The evening’s entertainment was a band that played 70’s rock/country music. Everyone had a good time dancing and chillin’.
The final tally for the DRR was posted in the evening. Beth placed 4th among riders who have a previous first- through fourth-place finish in past years! Congratulations!
Loving your posts. So terribly hot here. Hard on this old lady. July 14. Olive’s birthday?
Yes, today is Grandma’s birthday. It would be her 131st. Stay cool as best you can.
