Fun and Relaxing Day
It was 56 deg. when we got up this morning. That seemed quite warm compared to the 40 deg. of a couple of days ago. We moved the packing process in slow motion; it was a beautiful morning to enjoy.

We headed west on I-90 and stopped briefly in Billings to check in at Beartooth Harley. This being the first of the month, there is a new riding challenge. We need to record 550 miles and 5 check-ins using the Harley app. We’ll accumulate the miles in a day or two. It may take a week or two to find 4 more dealers.
Our morning break was at a Pilot travel center.

One of our readers noted that he was in the US Navy Squadron, VF-31 aboard USS Saratoga in the late 70s. He asked to see my Saratoga hat, so…

I bought this hat at a vendor in Washington DC during Rolling Thunder several years ago. They are available on Amazon now.
Lunch was at a beautiful community park in Cliff Park, MT.

We ended the day in White Sulfur Springs, MT. Beth shopped for groceries at a local grocery store. A sign said they have been serving the community for 100 years. Beth was pleased with the large variety of items they carried.
We checked into our motel and showered off the sweat of the day before going in the hot mineral spas at the hotel. They have three pools. We did not go in the hottest.

Our room is on the back side of the motel. Out the window we could see a community park. We decided to take the stove over to the shelter.

Beth cooked hamburgers, and dished up bag-o-salad.

We cleaned up quickly as a strong wind blew up from the south. There were a lot of black clouds, but the storm blew away from us.
The pools are open until 10, so we are going back in for another dip.
Statistics:
Miles – 222, Hours – 5.
I’m enjoying your trip Tin …
Thanks for following.
This is so much fun, tim. I was at Beartooth HD yesterday too in the am for a timely oil change. Sorry I missed you! Then I headed to Bozeman where I caught onto 287 for a scenic route to Butte. Today I’m off to great falls, and Missoula. Where are U watching Fri eve july4 fireworks??
Yes, this is lots of fun. Don’t know where we’ll be on Friday – probably northern Idaho.
2006 National HOG rally was in Billings, MT. June 30 – July 1 The digital sign at Billing’s HD read 110 degrees, they had a large canopy with ice water and shade. Did not leave until the sun and temp went down. I was concerned about the engine, it did not sound good. The desert between California and Vegas was not this hot. Not an experience I would ever want to experience again.
Our hottest temp to date is 107 deg. in eastern Colorado. We had our wet vests on, but it was still HOT.
Shannon and I have enjoyed following you on your adventures!!
Thanks for following along. I appreciate having you in the audience.
Tim, Thanks for the picture of the USS Saratoga hat – looks sharp with side profile of the ship – did find the hat on Amazon.
Enjoy. I have breakfast weekly with fellow veterans (mostly Navy, one Marine.) Most wear hats of their favorite duty ship. We share lots of sea stories.
