Shenandoah Valley to Cherokee
The day started with a clear sky and a comfortable temperature. We stopped a few miles down the road at a Walmart to pick up some dielectric grease and apply it to the throttle servo connector on Bob’s bike. The bike worked normally the rest of the day.
As we got closer to Asheville, the clouds thickened and then drenched us with rain. Our rain gear kept us perfectly dry the rest of the day. We made it to Maggie Valley in time to tour Wheels Through Time museum. The museum contains a huge collection of old motorcycles. Some of them have been restored and most are just sitting in unrestored condition. There are also some antique cars. (Notice the Motor Maids coffee cup in the Cadillac.)
We checked into our hotel and had dinner at a good local restaurant.
After dinner Bob did his laundry and I rode over to Bryson City to pick up a couple of bottles of craft beer at Nantahala Brewing.
Tomorrow we ride the Dragon – Whoopee!
