Spring BBQ Run Day 2
First of all I forgot to add a picture of the restaurant we ate at last night. This is Ermilio’s Italian Home Cooking.
Today was Day 2 of the Spring BBQ Run. The group split up into smaller groups of riders and went various directions. I rode with David Bridges of Indianapolis. We made a quick stop at Walmart. As I locked my tour pack, the plastic handle of the key broke off. The backup key did the same. Now I’ll have to use a wrench to operate the key until I can get a replacement.
The weather was perfect for any outside activity. The temperature was in the 60s, the sky was clear, and the humidity was low. The pollen index was high, however. I noticed that at the higher elevations Spring is just starting. Many of the trees do not yet have leaves, and the leaves on those that do are pale green as they emerge. There was an occasional dogwood tree in bloom near the road to add to the beauty of the scenery.
The designated lunch stop was at the Cliff House Inn, which hangs over a cliff. They have a nice flower garden in front of the parking lot.
David and I just rode our bikes. We didn’t stop to take pictures. We just enjoyed the ride. Dinner was at Penguin Ed’s BBQ. We finally had an official stop at a BBQ joint.
This evening there will be the usual sitting in the parking lot and swapping stories.
