Thursday was the grand touring day. We joined the group for a ride across the park to Boquillas Crossing.

We went through the Border Patrol checkpoint, where we receive a lecture on what to expect when crossing over and what not to bring back (rocks and plants.)

From the checkpoint we walked down to the river. where we were hauled across the river in a row boat.

We crossed into Mexico on a row boat and rode burros 3/4 of a mile into town.

In town we checked into Mexican customs, then went to lunch at one of two restaurants.

After lunch we took a few pictures, then  reversed our route riding the burros bck to the river and crossing in the boat. We checked into US Customs and headed back across the park.

Some people rode in a pickup truck rather than on the back of a burro.

From Boquillas Crossing we went back West and up to the Chisos Mountain Resort for some refreshments and more pictures.

Finally we went back down the mountain, returned to our hotel, and went to the El Dorado for dinner. Needless to say, we slept well that night.
