As I mentioned earlier, Tuesday we rode our bikes 150 miles to the Harley dealer in Odessa, TX.

They evaluated the problem with the hydraulic clutch actuator and determined it wasn’t disengaging the clutch enough, so the clutch has to be replaced in addition to the master and slave cylinders. They didn’t have the parts in stock, so we had to leave the bike. We decided to ride 2-up for a few days and pick up the bike on Saturday on our way home.

We rode back to Ft. Davis and started sorting our things. We made a pile of things to keep and a pile of things to send home. We managed to pack what we needed to keep on the bike and shipped the rest home.

Tuesday evening we rode up to the McDonald Observatory for the Star Show. The docent pointed out various stars and constellations using a powerful laser pointer. It was the first time I’d actually seen the constellations I’ve seen in books. The night sky was so dark we saw more stars than we can ever see at home.

Wednesday we’ll do some touring and head for Terlingua, TX.
