After our ride to West Texas, I had a couple of days to prepare for my next adventure. I had the 10,000 mile service done on my bike and re-packed my things.

Today I headed out on another journey, this time with my friend, Rick. We stopped at the Alabama welcome center on US-231 to take yet another picture of the helicopter on display there. It was a flag stop on an Iron Butt ride two years ago and I’ve made it a tradition to photograph it each time I pass by.

Rick and I are in Birmingham this evening. Tomorrow we go to Eureka Springs for a couple of days of riding with the Road Glide Friends. From there we’ll tour the Southwest. Our primary destination is Rick’s daughter’s home in California,
