Not So Much Rain After All
Today we started home expecting to ride through a lot of rain in Louisiana. It was foggy and damp when we got up.
We walked to McDonald’s for breakfast. The breakfast burritos are quite good. The clerk asked me if I wanted mild or hot picante sauce. I answered, “hot.” Mild was on the tray. Oh well.
As you can see, we suited up for rain, but encountered only a teeny-tiny shower. Beth is looking at Facebook on the phone in the picture. Earlier she took care of the business messages on her work phone.
We found a rest stop with covered tables for our picnic lunch.
We arrived in Mandeville, La, in the late afternoon and stayed with our friends, Skip and Karen. We joined them at the 30-by-Ninety theater for a performance of “The Great Big Doorstep,” a comedy by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. It’s a Depression-era story of a Cajun family. We enjoyed the play and our time with Skip and Karen very much.
Tomorrow is our final leg home. We have a lot of miles to cover and are hoping for minimum rain.
