Riding And A Pie Run
Today’s planned ride was to a pie shop in Fayettville. Beth and I rode a long, circular route on nice curvy roads to Rymoline’s.
We had breakfast for a second time at the Filling Station, which is almost across the street from the hotel.
The walls are decorated with old automotive signs and memorabilia in keeping with the name of the restaurant.
The clouds threatened rain and it was a bit chilly, so we donned our rain suits before heading out. We rode east and south to AR-16, which is one of my favorite roads. It has nice sweeping curves without technical switchbacks.
We got to the restaurant before the main group and ordered coffee while we waited.
While Rymoline’s is a pie shop, she has an excellent selection of luncheon items on the menu. Beth and I shared a chicken salad sandwich and Beth had pomegranate pecan pie.
The owner is in the blue dress in the background and standing by the pie case.
We stopped for gas and beer just before returning to the hotel. The store has a small selection of dark beers.
I spent a couple of hours trying to update Jim’s Garmin GPS, but had only limited success. Tomorrow we ride down to Jefferson, TX.
Pomegranate pecan pie.Yum…sounds interesting!
