Sunshine and Rain
It’s been a year since we did a long distance ride. We had to re-learn our riding techniques and get back in the groove. We had a couple of challenges that helped us remember how we do this. The morning was sunny and hot. Then we met the rain. The first patch of rain was only about five minutes long.
Fortunately the gas station where we stopped for lunch had tables outside under a canopy.
As we made our way north we hit more challenging patches. When we encounter some small branches on the road, I knew we were in for a dousing. A couple of miles down the road we had to pull over at an intersection. I hunkered down beside my bike as the rain came at us horizontally. The next time we stopped under an abandoned gas station canopy.
Eventually we arrived at our Bunk a Biker hosts in Marianna, FL. They made room in their barn for our bikes and we parked our trailer in the carport.
We had a delightful time staying with our hosts, Loraine and Tony.
Crazy first day for you! We actually got a good downpour here too – for about 10 minutes 😜
And more heavy rain this afternoon.
I hate rain but I would trade you anytime instead of working
Is that a solar panel on top of the trailer?
Yes. Check it out on my YouTube channel.
