Gypsy Tour Day 4 – Canyons
The last day of the Gypsy Tour started very early as we had some canyons to see and 380 miles to cover to our destination in St. George, Utah. The temperature was in the low 50s when we left Flagstaff. We had on all our extra liners. By the time we got to St. George, the temperature was in the upper 90s. Our first stop was the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We parked at the visitors’ center and walked to Mather point to take pictures.
We drove east and stopped a couple of times to take more pictures before heading to Cameron and the Cameron Trading Post for lunch.
The next segment of the ride took us north and west across the Colorado River where it is relatively narrow at Marble Canyon.
Then the road headed southwest before turning west and up over the Kaibab Forest. From there the road headed back down and northwest through the desert to our hotel in St. George.
There are at least 100 Road Glides here. We spent the evening greeting friends and swapping tales of our journeys to Shark Week.
