49 States Ridden
This morning I was surprised by the time on the clock when I woke up; it was 7:15! That’s late for me. I packed up slowly and rode out of the campground as quietly as possible. It was Sunday morning and no one was out and about.
I rode about 40 miles and stopped at McDonald’s for breakfast. The building is a newer one, but they incorporated the traditional arches in the design. I like the arches, so I took a picture.
You can see it was a beautiful day – sunny and cool.
South Dakota is the last state except for Hawaii that I have not ridden in. I stopped for the picture when I got to the sign. I have no plans to fly to Hawaii, so that’s it for my collection of states.
The speed limits were 75 or 80 mph; it felt good to be able to go fast legally. I turned left on I-90 and just kept riding. There were a lot of motorcycles headed west to Sturgis and a few on trailers heading east and home. There were so many bikes no one waved. Traffic south of the Wisconsin Dells was very heavy this evening. I guess people were heading home from their weekend cottages.
I’m headed for my brother’s home in Illinois. I stopped at a KOA just north of Madison, WI.
Hi Tim, I have ridden in 49 states minus Alaska. If we get together maybe we can say fifty between us, Haha. Anyway, great accomplishment. Ride safe the rest of your trip. See you in September.
Thanks.
