Canadian Rockies
The hotel I stayed at didn’t serve breakfast, so I packed up quickly and went to McDonald’s for an Egg McMuffin and coffee. I had my sights set on the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, 200 miles away. I got there in time for lunch – at McDonalds, again.
There is no way to describe the views of the mountains. This is a place that should be on everyone’s bucket list.
I stopped for a photo op in Jasper. The town is purely a place for tourists.
I like trains, so I took a picture of the locomotive.
These shots only hint at the beauty of the mountains. As you can see, it was a “calendar-photo” day.
The Icefields Parkway runs north/south between the mountains for 150 miles!
I left the park and headed west to Radium Hot Springs. This is a resort area near some hot springs. The campground is immaculate and pricey. A tent site is more that a dorm room at the University of Alaska.
This is the last of my posts for the Alaska story. My next adventure starts in a few days. I’m headed to Canmore, AB and Shark Week VI, the meet up of Road Glide owners.
Tim,
Very much enjoying your daily entries, thanks much for posting them.
Maybe someday I’ll make that journey myself, sounds like if it weren’t for the rain, the rest of
it wouldn’t be so bad.
We will be leaving Iowa on this Thurs and arriving in Canmore on Sunday afternoon. Will see you there!!

Beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful scenery! Rick and I are enjoying your post. What a great trip!
I’ve seen a lot of mountains, but to drive past them for 150 miles in a front row seat puts the experience over the top.
