Hello Ezmototim! I am enjoying your tutorials very much. Thank you. Via Points and Shaping Points: Please can you tell me if the route forces me to go through both of these. If I miss a turn, will it force me (direct me) back to make sure I pas htrough the point before continuing on the route? This is what I have not quite understood. Thank you so much. John
The answer to your question depends on the device you are using. For instance, the GPS in Harley touring bikes insists that you return to the missed point. You have to remove the next waypoint to make that issue go away. With the Garmin GPSs that I have, they will direct you back to the missed point for a while, then they will give up and assume you intended to skip the point. The best answer is for you to give it a try. Create a route, go on the route, skip one of the points, and see how your device responds.
