I am so happy that a friend introduced me to your tutorials! I have been struggling with base camp for some time now and feel like I might finally be making some decent progress.
I looked at Garmin Explore but was not impressed with it. I did not like being able to see if the route I was creating was actually going to follow the roads intended.

I’m glad you find the tutorials helpful. Yes, Garmin Explore just stores waypoints and doesn’t plat the route. It assumes the GPS will pick the route. That’s not how motorcyclists plan routes.
