On Monday, August 1st, I crossed from Minneapolis to Appleton on US-10. It was a delightful ride through to woods of northern Wisconsin. I arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon and parked the trailer.

I spent the afternoon and evening catching up with old friends, including Chris and Kim. Shark Week was Chris’s idea. He and a few members of the Roadglide.org forum organized the first meetup in 2011.

One of the guys, riding a customized “Shark,” invited me to sit on his bike.

Shark Week Day 1

I took advantage of the time to ride to Milwaukee to visit friends. They live in St. John’s assisted living community. Their apartment has a 300 degree view of Lake Michigan and the city.

Dick and John took me to lunch at one of their favorite restaurants. On the way they took me on a tour passed of some of the old mansions. After lunch I rode back to Appleton for meet-n-greet time at the hotel.

Shark Week Day 2

The day’s activities started with a ride to Doc’s Harley-Davidson where we had lunch and toured the museum.

After lunch we rode to Lambeau Field where we lined up for the group photo.

After the picture taking we returned to the hotel and the raffel.

In addition to the raffle we voted to return to St. George, UT, for Shark Week XIV in 2024.

Shark Week Day 3

Day 3 was an open riding day. Dinner was at Appleton Harley Davidson.

Next Up – The ride home. It was not competely uneventful.
